The first level I ever made:

This is the very FIRST level I've ever made in 3ds max. It's not for DoD, however, it's for a game I'm programming. It's not actually going to be part of the game, it was simply a preperation modeling for the levels to come. Have some screenshots:

http://www.3dmm.net/upload/screen5.jpgA view of the spawn point (by the switchbox). You can also see the spiral staircase leading to the under-cave tunnel.
http://www.3dmm.net/upload/screen2.jpgA view of the main corridor (upper level). Complete with boxes, rubble, wooden supports, and stairs to lower level
http://www.3dmm.net/upload/screen3.jpgA view of the underground tunnel, I added a minecar/traintracks because it seemed to be lacking in detail. At the end of the tunnel there's a hole (on the left) that leads to a staircase back to the main corridor
http://www.3dmm.net/upload/screen4.jpgA good view of the main corridor, complete with broken box teapot rubble action.
http://www.3dmm.net/upload/screen1.jpgA view of the level (with some walls hidden) in the editing program, 3ds max. You can see the underground tunnel, the 2 staircases, the fallen minecart (not in the other screenshots), and all of the upper level.

I can't add lights until I start programming the game, I can't find a way to add light sources to an exported .3ds file.

Comments, suggestions, critiques, praise and or encouragement! Feedback is important at this stage.

to small, eveeything si far to blocky as section by section. and what game are you trying to create that you are making your own full blown 3D engine for!

The engine will be easier to write than all the actual graphics and audio work (though collision will be a bit tricky).

If you care, descriptions on the game are found at my forums: http://www.delvarworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=310

I have this tendancy for beautifull ideas, but genrally they are single ideas and I rarely get a full blown plot in my head. If you want any specific random ideas I'd be happy to help, some of the stuff i think up out of the blue amazes me. I just never tie enough of it together for 1 consistent idea :/

The full blown plot is literally the most beautiful thing ever written. If I wanted to turn it into a game it'd be a 3 cd 10 year masterpiece that would completely take up all of my time. I've explained the full plot to a few people and they agree it's completely amazing.

But we will need some writers soon to bash out the details and turn it into specefic gameplay, this stuff is ALL in the planning. The better it is on paper, the better it's going to be on the computer.
