something is horribly wrong with dod_charlie...

after playing a round on charlie, i've come to the conclusion that there is something dreadfully wrong with the map. when five out of the total eight allies are sniping on the beach, and the allies still manage to win the map in about 3 minutes, there must be something wrong. i know this has been brought up before, but ive never seen such a good example of the unfair advantage the allies have over the axis in this map. please, i know i have no room to speak about this since its someone elses map and all and i could never do any better... but give the axis a chance.

Actually half the time I see the Axis owning the Allies, when the Allies have half their team sniping all the axis have to do is get down behind the shingle and so on and they'll have a way better chance of winning.

Depends on the teams really and how many people actually defend or go for objs etc.

i dissagree with your allied bias theory, if the map was played how it was meant to be i think you will find that it is a fair map but by far not allied bias. ive played this map countless thousands of times and when the axis arent whoring sniper they tend to win.

I think i've seen the axis winning 3 times out of the 100 times I've played rounds on charlie, I've played this map when the axis were really owning the hell out of is, when 3 were left I managed to break through the shingle get behind the axis, take everyone out and hup, there we went, it's really easy to win this on your own.

With allied snipers present on beach it's almost impossible to shott from MG at the beach longer that 5 seconds. So one basic of beach map is not present - heavy fire on the beach, so it's hard to get to 1st line of defences. Typically Axis manage to get to upper line of cliff the same moment when Allies blow barbed wire line. Second big flaw of map that Axis don't have 2nd line of defences. It's VERY hard to stop Allies from spreading everywhere - too many paths. It can only be possible with very good team players. That happens very rarely on public servers. Typically most of Axis players still tries to shoot at the beach all the time, even whe allies have capped 3/4 of objectives.

TBH due to these things you can't name Charlie a beach (invasion/d-day) map. It only looks like it, but considering gameplay it definitely isn't.

FYI, some changes have been made to Charlie for 1.1, including some measures to make the map slightly easier for the Axis to defend (and harder for the allies to cap)
