How can I use the bed model and the coat rack used in dod_escape? Because they are very nice looking models which I hope I can use in a map. So what do i do?

um the models might of come with the map and when u install the map which i recall came with steam would automatically place the models used in model folder. Your have to do a search through the folder for the desired model.

Its in the cache file. You can't use them, unless someone makes a cache explorer.

maybe for official maps they should also release a file for the mappers with models, sounds, wads ect.

i agreed, or a catchfile explorer would do just great. at least some way custom mappers can work with those files.

Wouldnt he be required to share the models since all textures and models must be made available, as a requirement for being included in the game?

I agree, a dod sdk consisting of the wads, mapmodels, sounds, etc, folders would be a nice thing to have, a good way of getting around the whole steam cache problem.
