Model by me, skin by my brother [$]pEcTrE, anyone whos around the FA modeling scene is likely to have seen our stuff, but I've always wanted to do a Garand and DoD seemed the logical place for it.

i couldn't do better, but the end of it is too narrow. i'm pretty sure its the fault of the HL engine, so you may want to widen the barrel. other than that, it looks fine.

Arg! too many new garands. First MrFus, then marzy's enhanced default, then FOV MrFus, and now another new model XD I'll have to take a look at this later, as I'm kinda busy right now.

i really really like the skin, could you make a FOV version. cause the front barrel is hardly noticeable :D

I don't like the texture.
the end of the garand lacks with propotion.
poly is too low imo.
and i don't like the angle, it looks like half iron sight half not.
It's a nice try, i hope you can upgrade it a little here and there.
nextime try showing some pictures before the release to hear some tips or advices here and there, not by me, by the great creators in this community.

i'll sum it up, imo it needs another try. my opinion only.
cheers.

P.S
im glad for you (and them) that other people like :)

I purposely left out FoVing. It looks like utter ass. I grew up on DoD 2.0 where the models weren't horribly distorted. All other mods as far as im aware don't do it. Most players are used to normaly proportioned models, distorted as they are by the engine, including myself. Look at the new FoV'ed weapons. Check the lines of perspective, they are distorted to the extent that they curve the other way, making the models look way too fat towards the end, especially like the thompson and mp44.

i think it looks fine. i'm not a big fan of the origin you chose for it, but that's real easy to fix. If you look at it from the side, it does actually look like a real m1-garand. good work.

its an excellent effort, leave the FOV part to someone else. If you think you can still improve it, go ahead.

Preach it! Seriously! FOV sucks, and anyone from 3.1 or earlier will probably agree!

I like this model for some reason, but I don't like how the reticule and such is smashed in. Both sides are angling in.

How ever the current stretch used for FOV versions is too wide. I would love to see something in between. stretched but as much as now.

ive played since beta 1, and i really think FOV is a great idea. not with the thompson or MP40 , but with the garand it makes the barrel show out. in 3.1 , i HATED nomads garand b.c without FOV, the front looked like some fat thing with the tip of the barrel shopped off.

Iīve been playing since the very first beta release, and I like the FOV weapons much better as well. Why? Because they look like that in real life. Weapons donīt get magically thinner at the end of the barrel because the end is about 30-80 cm away from your face (depending on the gunīs size). The stock weapons actually look very realistic with their large front sites.
