I believe this is the first model from Cheetos Russian model pack to actually be released :) This whole thing started because I thought that since no one was stepping forward to skin this and Cheeto had been begging since 3.1 that I would go out and skin this. This has been a labor of love that has finally gotten completed. I came into this only knowing how to hack models and skins together and this is my first serious attempt to skin from scratch. This model includes v, p, and w models with working transparencies and custom sounds. Im working on the sprites so those will be released as an add-on later. Heres to the Russian pack, and hopefully this model and skin kicks up some more interest in the pack as a whole. As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed with open arms. Enjoy this pack as it is a serious blast to use ingame :) More mirrors or hosts would be appreciated since Dying Robot was kind enough to host for me and I dont want to eat up too much of his bandwidth.

Ok, Im using geocities to host this stuff so bear with me.....
For the Download Link...Right click the link, then save target as and save it wherever you want.

For the Picture, click the link and when the page opens telling you its not available, go to the address box and delete http:// to get this www.geocities.com/andersonsdodshack/ppshpreview.jpg and then hit enter....that should get you the picture

Until I get a host for this those are the steps you will have to take to get the pics and the download.

Yeah, I love it. But I use it to replace my mp40...think I'm going to use it instead of the mp44 later on though.

Really neat model. Glad that I could be of any assistance.

can you make this for a mp40 replacement? because it was more common for germans to use ppsh's then americans(offcorse ;))

Captain Obvious to the Rescue!!!!!!
Cheeto is talking about Russian player models....just thought as Captain Obvious I'd point that out :)

Oh yeah about the MP-40 replacement, just do as Cheeto said. The germans loved to pick up the PPSh off of dead Russians because of its dependability and rate of fire. I have several pictures of Germans on the Eastern Front sitting around with MP40s, Kars and quite a few with PPSh.

are you sure this will work properly? because isn't the reload of the thompson faster then the mp40?

Cheeto

Maybe, but even if it is, then there's just an extra moment that you have to wait after the anim has finished playing.

oh ic, but then we'll have problems with the guy holding the mp40 :D in p_model but hey, anyway, I'd like to give you an idea if you were going to do a full russian pack, don't do it with the americans :p do it with the british. enfield(scope)=mosin nagant(scope), sten=ppsh, bren=some mg :p, webley=nagant pistol, mill nade= russian nade(wich was that again?)

Cheeto

I'm doing it for both Americans and British.

Wow. Just tested this, its friggen perfect, but I don't know about the sounds, the sounds sound like it is shooting at 700rpm, where in dod its more like 400rpm.

One again, great job, this will be in my dod for a long time to come.

That was the point. The real PPSh had a serious ROF of about 900-1000. So I wanted it to feel like this thing was seriously spewing lead.

I replaced the mp44 with mine.

It looks fine, and works.

Yes, very nice Joe, indeed. Though it's a pity it isn't on a better model. And who did those anims? A complete n00b who only just now figured out you don't talk to the mouse?

What did you change? Just made it darker? Can't really tell cause the pic is too small lol. Dont make me look at small pictures when I get off of work, it hurts my brain lol.
