I might use it as a sten replacement, I dont like the sten too much kind of icky sounds way too loud for how it looks too.

Perhaps I should rephrase for the new people to the forums....The Delisle Commando Carbine was a hybrid gun composed of an enfield stock mated to a thompson submachine gun barrel with a custom supressor by Delisle utilizing the Colt 1911A1 .45 ammunition. I made a release back in the late days of 3.1 and it seemd to be a hit and I just wanted to know if I should go into the effort to make a release of this gun for 1.0 There is one issue with it replacing the enfield that I can think of off the top of my head and I think I have a solution to that. The issue I can think of is that an enfield in 1.0 has a bayonet and the delisle had no bayonet....solution: custom buttwhip animation ala 1.0 garand. Let me know what you all think and as always, suggestions are more than welcome.

For those of you who missed this release back in 3.1 here are some pictures. This model replaced both the v and the p models so that you could see your team killing germands with the very model you were using.

heh so called 'dumbing it down for "noobs" ' I never got around to seeing what this looked like when you origionally finished it man, looks pretty good.

I have looked for a real Deslisle Carbine since i was in high school(i read about it in the school library).

So when you released it for 3.1 i thought then, and now that it is truly a work of art.

And I for one would love for you to release it for 1.0, with the butt smack animation.

Here's a link for all of you out there about an updated version from dvc, http://www.gggaz.com/dvc/sup_45bt.php

And thank's again Joe Anderson. spectacular work!:D

Oh, heck, yes! Release! Although... Where would you put the bayonet? Unless you want to use the anims that were on Ls3's K98, with Glimsharp's butt-smash. I do so love the bolt-action anims on that. O_o

Release it, dude. :)

Question: Would it be realistic for the Brits have that weapon in a battlefield but no Enfields?

Maybe the DoD team will add this and the Tommy gun in the future for the Brits. 4 weapon can get boring sometimes...

dear lord, please NO! The Deisle was a very rare weapon with only some actually being used by commandos. It was not a weapon supplied to regular troops and definately would be misplaced in a WW2 game which simulates battles between regular frontline troops.

It was even more rare than the Fg42, a lot more even. I would hate seeing 3 or 4 people on the server with a Deisle, that would totally ruin my World War II experience.

Ahhhh, roger that.

What about the Tommy?

05-04-2003, 07:02 AM
I would use it :) go ahead converting it :)

05-04-2003, 08:18 AM
dude, it's just Rusty's Enfield, slightly edited.

No actually there's a wee bit more than that to it. But thanks for putting down his effort all the same.

despite what people have said negatively about me releasing it, it will be released nevertheless lol. Use it or dont use it...simple as that. Look for it by thursday.

PS.....I dislike having my rank taken away by the new forums.....The whole chain of respect is gone.

He was responding to my comment about it maybe being put into DoD officially in the future, not this custom model.

What Tommy?

I mentioned the Tommy gun besides the Delisle in my post, and since he commented on the Delisle, I wanted to know if the Tommy is ok to put in for the Brits.

You still have the fire sounds of the firing pin smack? Any chance we'll get a normal Rifleman carbine for a DeLisle Sniper(I love using those old fashioned iron thingys for sniper rifles)

1.0 compatibility is underway :) Im reworking the leaf sights, working on the butt swipe animations, and making it newer and better overall....In the original release I had the silenced M4 sound from CS to replace the firing sounds, but I was thinking of going out and making my own sound for the delisle. I just have to get the positioning right on the p model for 1.0 models as things are ever slightly different from 3.1 I'll keep you posted on progress.

when using the sound that came with the carbine i found it a bit offputting that i could not hear if somone was fireing it right next to me,so i made this, i think it works well!
what do you think?

sorry for letting this thread die. I moved out of my parents house into my own and theres no internet whatsoever for now. Im working on getting the Cable connection up but for now I gotta go to the Net Cafe to play DOD and email and junks. Progress is on with the delisle, and Im taking my first shot at animating models :) I'll post later on. Again, sorry for letting the thread die till now.

Please do convert it and put some butt smack animations on it.

If people don't like it, its quite simple really. Don't use it.

Anyway, hows the commandos coming along? you still gonna make some to go with the rifle?

BTW RatDog has the new coolest sig on these forms lol

yea...make it for enfield......although u could also convert ur 3.1 model for the garand...

Joe Anderson

since the british guns of 1.0 are quite bigger than the guns of 3.1, I've had to start over using the stock enfield but have no fear....Its even better then before...I added more polys, a new skin by myself, and Im doing my damndest to get these animations right....If I remember to bring a CD with all this to the Internet Cafe, I'll post the model for a good animator to take a crack at if I get stuck in a corner banging my head against the wall lol. And since theres a nice high poly scope on the stock enfield its gonna get thrown into the mix too :) Glad people are taking a liking to the gun :)

I would actually like to see one of these in person, i think it would be very cool to see.

in reality, only a handful were ever made and those that were made saw limited service in WWII by british commandos and french resistence fighters. The value of the delisle was proven time and again in the fight for Burma as the Brits could dispatch whole columns with the Japanese having no clue where the fire was coming from. The European theater saw limited use of the delisle but it is widely believed to be the best silenced gun in the world hands down. Anyone who wants more reading material on the delisle send me an email and I'll get it to you eventually.

I say release it. It was a good decision to do so. It's good for people who are way into different weapons and whatnot. Go for it.

holy crap I'd forgotten all about working on this model for all this time while I dealt with moving into my new place, *****ing at Comcast to get cable set up, working 40+ hours a week and getting M3 ready to be up and running. I sincerely apologize to all the people who are awaiting my release of this model. Since the dev team was nice enough to delete all the backfaces on the v_models I've been busting my ass gettting things looking right again. This is now atop the list of crap for me to get done and released lol. Thanks for keeping me on my toes guys:)

Want me to help you out? I could prolly convert it to the Enfield/Garand for you, or was there something else you wanted to do it?

thanks for the offer cheeto...Im just doing the custom reload since the enfield reloaded using the Colt 1911A1 Magazines. If I run into issues I'll ask for some help....expect a plea for help in 5...4....3....2....1 lol

05-28-2003, 09:49 PM
sounds cool as long as it is a replacement for some sort of single shot bolt action. thats what the delisle was so it would be retarded to release it as a sten replacement.

05-28-2003, 10:11 PM
Yes, make it replace the Enfield. That would be a pointless Sten replacement.

Cheeto
05-28-2003, 10:38 PM
Yes we already knew that...

Joe Anderson
05-28-2003, 10:55 PM
why would I make it a replacement for an automatic weapon? I thought I dealt with this in the first page of the thread lol. progress is going on

somebody had mentioned it earlier in the thread. thats why i said what i said.
