Default Kar98 Enhanced

Ok i've been at it again, this time with the default kar, polycount 1324, hope to release sometime tonight. Thinking of releasing default skins version and also Dillinger & Russ. Conscript Hi res skins version, if they don't mind, as im sure there the same meshes.

Believe me theres a bit more then meshing involved....:)

You need glasses then...lol..although because the skins where made on low poly meshes, some of the lines/shadows don't do the higher poly one justice in places. And use your own origins after all it's easy to do thanks to Jed's HLMV. I'm just going with default origins for the release, after all thats what most peeps are use to.

You could always re-release your own origin version after i've released...:).

thats amazing.. did any of the meshes change? id like to see what this looks like with my skin on it :)

:edit: and also, you dont have to do this, but scince you seem to be skilled in changing weapons to and from the FOV look, would it be possible to see what this k98 looks like, without the FOV look? cause, imo rifles can do without the fov deformaties.

Maybe there is something wrong with my eyes, but I canīt see any difference when I look at the OpenGL pic.

Well for my eyes...in the open GL pic, the defualt garand is blocky where the blue mark is...and on the enhanced version it seems smooth again where the blue mark inicates.

It is making me laugh how some peeps can not see a difference, if you look from one end of the barrel to the other you can see that everything is more rounder and smooth looking. Ok in some areas this may stand out more then others, but what i've done is taken a low poly model and made it more like the higher poly custom models, although maybe not to the extremes as the custom models i make from scratch. I do admit though that some areas i can't see much of a difference, but like i said early i feel this is more down to the default skins, as they where made with low poly meshes. But for thoughs that can see a difference you should see the scope version...:).

And Russ i don't think i will attemt trying to make a FOV model back into a normal sized model, it would be very hard work and could end up very messy, where as it's much easier to go from normal to FOV.

I only play default, but with such enhanced weapon I can play "default" again. Using the garand for the moment and waiting for K98 enhanced release :)

In my opinion, default reload animation would be better, because with the animation you use (Glimsharp I think but not sure), you can fire before animation is finished and it's a bit weird :)

Are you going to make all weapons enhanced ?

Well i can't get around that.....:(, but still for the extra character it adds to the model i can live with it..:). Although i did try adding the correct sound to the relevant anim sequence, but the only problem with this method was it played the sound weather you hit something or not, so i scrapped it.


But on a good note i've got the models all finished, i've added a few more polys to the garand around the rear sight and it's Knobs, also added custom sleeve models to all classes, and Russ.Conscript and Fiblah bayonet model to the garand.

The latest enhanced garand comes in three flavors.

No bayonet with butt smack anim's
Bayonet with bayonet anim's
Bayonet with butt smack & bayonet anim's

The enhanced Kar comes in the same three flavors, although aswell as a default skin set, there is also a Russ. Conscript & Dillinger Hi res skin set.

Theres also two enhanced versions of the Kar scoped 98, one with bayonet and one without, also in both sets of skins. Ill probably release three packs Garand, Kar and Kar Hi res skins.

I've just got to put some credits and screen shots and bits together and ill release..:)
