How do,

Still getting the hang of modelling stuff from scratch so Im trying to do as many simple things as i can until i build up the courage to try a gun lol

Anyway, I personally hate the British knife as IMO its looks way too small so I thought i'd try to make a replacement. Tried various knives (which all ended up looking ****) so i though I'd try a WW1 Trench club.

Used by many common wealth forces (especially the British and Canadians) the trench club is basically a solid iron batton with a wooden handle. Many of these saw use in WW2 as soldiers often kept these after the first world war and passed them onto their children as they went off to fight the Germans once again.

Anyway, enough of all that here's a pic. Comments suggestions are welcome as always but please go easy its only my second ever from scratch model lol

Pic of real trench club (http://www.kaisersbunker.com/cef/equipment/cefe26.htm)

The skin on the first picture is taken from a photo and is was purly a place holder so i could compile the model. The model is currently beening reskinned so DO NOT post anything like 'that skin sucks!' or owt dumb like that please lol

This model will probally use the spade animations unless I can find some other cool ones and will probally come with a cool custom 'crunch' sound i found. I'll probally make a strap attached the the hilt of the club as well but i dunno if it'll be animated or anything.

GJ, but you should work on the smoothing groups.

Looks good, but you should try putting the strap on, it looks cool, and gives it a counter-balanced feeling (visually, of course). Smoothing groups look fine to me, they aren't too important once you get the texture on there, just as long as there aren't any strong shadows or anomalies where there shouldn't be

That is probably the hottest melee model I've seen in a long time.

Wow, very nice Ska. Can't wait to use it. I would use it with or without the leather strap. GJ :)

Wow, cheers lads. I was expecting a bit of a flaming for this or jus get loads of replies saying 'What the **** is that?' 'That a WW1 dildo?' or **** like that lol

About the smoothing groups, they were fine until i took the ridges out of the handle. Anyone got a link to a tut so i can fix this?

Thanks for the great response lads, still need to get it meshed propally (current mesh is ****e) I'll probally try and do it myself through milkshape but if anyone fanices offering to do it for me *cough*hint*cough* lol

Looks neat I saw a bunch of these on a History CHannel Show, Conquest. On the one they did how to win at trench warfare. THere were a few clubs, nasty stuff too. One was a german trench club with nails into it (Blunt end out) to whack people with. Personally I like the american knife with the brass knuckles on the handles but I like your club too SKa.

Cheers mate, I jus stumbled across it a while ago and thought it would make a cool melee weapon.

Still no skin for it yet as I've had no time at all for dod recently. Will get it finished and released ASAP.
