As I've said I'll prolly never really finish the MP40 (too many polys) but the model I'm working on now will almost 100% get done... promise... .

I've only been working on it for about... well since yesterday... I'll let the pics do the talking:

Picture 1 (http://www.dodsupply.co.uk/jojo/lewis1.jpg)

Picture 2 (http://www.dodsupply.co.uk/jojo/lewis2.jpg)

Now I need to teach myself how to mesh, animate and skin correctly, so give me some time, comments would be nice as always :D

BTW I thinks its sitting on just over 2000 polys at the moment (nothing has been 'cleaned up' yet). Oh and yes I know it's missing the bipod stand!

I hope you like it Ska!

I think the drum needs to be bigger...

You think so?

Lewis Mark 1 Machine Gun (http://www.dodsupply.co.uk/jojo/scannedlewis.jpg)

I thought it was a little too big.

Thats a strange render, I actually built the model around that scanned in image, and the barrel looks much longer... in 3D Studio Max its exact... silly perspective!

Not bad, if you keep the polys down ill use this as a p_model to go with my hi poly v_model.

Cool, ok mail me about the skins and all that at jojo@dodsupply.co.uk or mail@jojosplace.net, you've made Ska Wars a very happy man; he really wants a Lewis!

Is your bipod going to be the same as the scanned in pic? Thats what I was goign to do but if you want to use them it would make sence if they looked roughly the same!

I would much rather make p a w models, not half as much work there!

Well i've got to finish my model aswell first, i'm just working with my sten models, then next up is the bren, and then the lewis. Jed is doing the meshes for these models, and maybe a skin or two, and Dillinger has also said he will lend a hand with the skins. As i also have a lee enfield, mills nade, and PAIT to sort aswell. So i should all being well have the lewis ready for skinning soon.

Here a pic of how far i've got with it, it wont take me long to finish whats left to do on it, so if your up for it ill be intouch soon about it.

How long that take you? I've been working on that one for about... a day now... no point in asking how long you've been modelling stuff either... as you can see I only started just under a week ago...

Well i would not normal post a pic of my weapon models in someone elses thread thats building the same model, as i think it's a little rude, but i just needed to show you how i think i could make good use of your model to be the p_model for my v_model.

Don't let me stop you from finishing it off though, i mean still make a v-model with it, just that i will no doubt use it as a p_model to go with mine.

Believe me, I am a very lazy person and would much rather just make 'p' a 'w' models!

Yeah Marzy and I dont post a lot of WIP of our work.

We have a secret bunker deep in abandoned coal mine in Wales where we store all our created weapons.

Once our team of gypsy tinkers have finished shaping and polishing them from solid silver ingots, we tranport them under cover of darkness to the paint shops in Doncaster.

We've had problems of late so we've hard to start senting the weapons in parts spread out over a period of weeks. Many of you think Marzy has a limp but in fact he's got a MkII Bren barrel grafted to the inside of his legs which he's been trying to get past the guards at Crewe for months now.

Hell Jed don't let to much out of the bag, else we might find some sniffing around in the backyard. And you know how the three chined dwalf will react to that, need i say more. And also are freindly neighbour eagle eyes will only back out of the plot, and we don't what that do we.

Remember how I said it was ok to use my model in the pack to end all packs and to let me in on the skinning (I'll prolly need help with the mesh), well to be honest I'm very, very scared now...

/runs away very quickly.
