I have no idea if this will help you:

http://extension.ws/hlfix/

It converts the brushes correct but some entity properties are very strange in dod. Since hlfix is written for halflife in general some of the strange entities in dod aren't exported correctly but the only way to know if your map is going to work is testing it. For example dod_score_ent isnt correctly exported and if you compile the exported map, the map will change everytime that dod_score_ent is called. :|

Perhaps he can export it with hlfix and then import back into hammer again and then fix the entities?

Caporal, does this happen with ALL the maps or only one?

one of the main reasons why hammer wont make a .map
is because your map has to much invalid/ broken brushes

go to your "look for problems" thingy in hammer and make sure you have non by either deleting them or fixing them

back in my mapping days I used to save my maps as .map only. But more than once, twice or triple I ended up finding my maps empty after reboot. Meaning: The grid was cleared, no map, no nothing. I then started saving everything into .rmf by default and never had that problem again. I only use the .map exporter for compiling.
