Here is a map I started about 2 weeks ago. It used to use Jagd textures but then I watched Band of Brothes 7 and was back into the winter theme and changed the textures with Zilla textures I think.

Allies start off in forest and must rush into the first village and capture it (one man). The axis will rush back to the flaks which then the allies must destroy. If done, the axis trial back to the last village which must be captured by two Americans.

All axis must do is defend the 2 villages and the flaks for a certain amount of time. And to end things quickly, they can capture the allies spawn and prevent reinforcements by capturing the spawn with 3 people (takes 5 seconds).

r_speeds are about 600-800. Sometimes there is 200, 400 and 900.

Is the name taken? if so, suggestions?

looks alrught except in pic6 i think. either the lamp post is the right size and everthing else is too big or that lamp post is way to small. constructive :)

i think everything else is to big cause that lampost is a model if I'm nto mistaken. and why does everyone put them on the inside of the street and corners? put them on the pavement (sidewalk) edge plz.

I like it, its definately a good start, here are a few suggestions I thought of:
the forest area seems a bit sparce in terms of vegetation and just natural features, its pretty open. You could add some more vegetation, maybe fallen over trees, big boulders, just more cover in general
I think you could work a bit on texturing the town some more, the buildings don't really fit together, I'd stick more with just a single wad or two, maybe just the kalt wad and zilla final for good snowy buildings, you could look at kalt or bierville to see some well textured snowy towns.

Otherwise I think its a good job, keep it up

eeeeek! it looks great but........minus well call it foy or something.....the real "bluge" episode of bob had the americans defending and the axis attacking..................or is this a remake of the foy one? if that, then it's fine having the americans attack. In anycase, make the axis para's like in bob:D :D . oh, and can the flak's be used by the axis?? if not, put some mortars in for the axis:D

Yeah, the flaks can be used. I was thinking the same things about the textures and I think that lamp model is just small because ive done many tests and the buildings are perfect size.

The area with trees isnt the forest. I dont have pics of the forest

Im no good at skinning so I was woundering if this is allowed, could someone skin the hay model so it hay some snow in the top of it? Then i could rename it and put it in my map because I plan to have a couple haystacks outside.

There wouldn't be any haystacks outside in winter, since the farmers would have already harvested and sent the produce to the market (FYI: Most plants cant grow or produce fruit in the winter)

In Band of Brothers, there were haystacks outside and im pretty sure they wouldnt make a mistake. The germans probably took over the village when there was no snow and I dont think they care about the farmers haystacks

Yeah I think they were still out I dunno but even if they weren't it would look pretty cool. I love the idea and the map looks really good. A name you could is dod_breakpoint or dod_noville which is the town they took after foy and dod foy is already being used. And there's a lot of stuff little stuff that was wrong in BoB heres a site if anyone's interested it nitpicks BoB.

after watching that episode again, I realized that the village isnt as civilized at the one I have in my map. I need more barns, wooden homes, unleveled ground with mud, snow, tanks and maybe some crop area..but without crops (fences, hay, rubble).

Are there any textures for wooden homes? Barn style with dark brown or black wood which looks like it has been through a lot of snow. And is there a texture out there with dirt and snow because I dont want the ground to be a perfect white snow, i need some mud with it. I searched some wads, couldnt find anything.

lets see if I got this correctly. You are makning an objectibe based map, the allies need to destroy two flaks then capture the first village and then the second. The Axis must protect these in a certain amount of time or capture the spawn of the allies by using three men and end things there. Can the Axis capture the spawn at anytime? or if the allies reach the first village its over; they only have time to worry about

The 3 axis men can capture the spawn at anytime, BUT if they dont capture it in the early stages of the map, it will get harder and harder everytime they get sent back. I dont want to make it so the axis can recapture the villages.

I redid the first village. Its all farmland now, with barns and wooden homes.

I've attempted to make a map based on the same BoB episode, but i have neither the time nor the patience/skill :p

If you could fix up the scale, add haystacks, more ruined ground and more trees... and call it dod_foy, i would love you forever :D

i got rid of the village with the wrong scale and made it farmland. I think its fine now, even though I think the steetlamp was too small..but it doesnt matter now.

Sure I give the axis an objective or let them just defend?

and dod_foy is taken, I heard.
