Why does the grenade have a yellow line?

Some of the grenades had yellow lines at the top of them. Why? I have no idea. That's why I included yellow line and no yellow line versions. :)

from what i know of the ilitray markings, certain lines mean certian things (duh!), when they have multiple things that could be in there they have this colour coding system. if you think about it why the yellow stripe on normal nades? don't bother they area a nade they go boom. the ones wiht the yellow stripe probably signify dud or an alternate explosive higher or smaller yeild i dunno, i'm guessing.

Loooks cool anyway.

Heh, Dill, I love your work, But I see NO purpose for this....When a nade hits the ground, People run. Not stand on it and look at it.:p... Very nice job though.

Ummm. You see your nades when you prime them.

US "pineapple" frag grenades used to be colored yellow. They were painted yellow because they could be seen more easily by friendly soldiers. Howeve, it also made the grenade more visible to enemies. So grenades were painted green afterwards to camoflauge it.

Check out the movie "The Thin Red Line" which is a great historically accurate portrayal of Guadalcanal.
