r_speeds ive got issues

now look i know a lot of people dont like me asking for help but i need to do it otherwise i wont get very far, now i have read many r_speed tutorials and have tried many things to try and fix my problems but still i dont have the result needed. can anyone offer any suggestions or fixes. your help will be much appreciated,

Well as a start, you'll want to post pictures of your problem areas!


Then these guys can work their magic. Maybe include a top overview of your map!

thing is the map is very open with quite a few trees, tips would be of much help. or a link to a decent tutorial

Sorry to say, but dont expect magical things to happen. A good design is alot better then extensive hintbrushing which even can raise your r_speeds. Most people just make their map and then try to fix it if it gets bad, which it mostly does... and very few things can be fixed if it isnt designed right.

My first advice is learn how the engine draws your map and then design your maps with that in mind. It might sound harsh but in the end you can make alot better maps....

And DO read Mythic_Krugers link, its a very good page.

in some places its impossible to lower r_speeds, ur open space should proberly be smaller

I can tell you right now no one's gonna be able to help you if we don't know what the area looks like and how high the r_speeds are.

i think the problem is that my map is rendering things it shouldnt =/ how do i fix that ?
