Flo's models are pretty nice! I was testing out one of his to see how it looked in DoD_Forest, and it looks great! Talking about the "grass" model by the way. Pictures at http://www.dayofdefeat.com/tim

GJ - I see you're making a "destroyed" version too - I think that's the best thing for a lot of stuff as far as mappers go. Then it's easy to make it blow up if shot with bazooka, etc. and still look good. I guess the only thing one could add as "icing on the cake" would be a nice explosion animation - that or make a "gib" model that's gibs from the item. Wheel, metal pieces, glass, etc. For a tank it could be tank tread, wheels, etc.

an explosion animation is a pretty cool idea

for models explosion animations are hard. you need to do lots of messing with skeletons and cutting off parts of the model, and then comes the fatc that the model can only be placed 1 way to stop the gibs going through a wall. What would be really nice would be a sort of Bounce animation where the model acts like it got hit but relaly is just wobelign a little from 1 joint, but that should be used on the destroyed version and should be nearly nothing. usually a destroyed version and a gib model will do.

Agree AB...Make several small low-res truck parts as standalone gibs...like a wheel, and part of a fender and a few other things...then you just use a env_shooter to fire them off when the model is rendered from "good" to "bad".

I could use some chunks of 88mm parts and a busted barrel for the remake of glider if anyone is listening...the key is low-res textures on simple model architecture...the env_shooter will pop the model out but the model will fade away in seconds...so it's not important to be detailed with gibs...they just have to give the impression that a tank wheel or tread is flying through the air...or a steering wheel and axel from a truck...that kind of thing
