Hello,
Today Azncoolteen and Me, Have decided to post pictures of our upcoming map. Azncoolteen has done lots of work on this map. The map is 80% done.

Looks good man. I will definitely download.

My only suggestion is to make the map a little more unique (there are a lot of beach maps). I think it would be better if there was something that made this stand out from other beach maps. Maybe you already have something - but it can't really be shown in the pictures. I don't know, but I'm not at all dissing your map. It looks really good, but I just thought I'd offer a suggestion ( either way, it's a lot better map than i could make).

theres some special things :D . We have already decided to use the FD 88 gun trick and mortar trick

This map does look a lot like dod_dog1 in the layout (the sniper bunker might ring a bell?) Otherwise it should look great when finished.

Some suggestions though:
- Make those lights and bunkers a bit rounder
- Use a different texture for that light (it looks too Black Mesa-ish)
- How about you use Waldo's mortar trick? That would be sweet.
- Instead of having those mini hills at the edge of the map, use a hedgerow as it looks more realistic than having the terrain suddenly end
- The last suggestion, add more barriers on the beach

Otherwise all is good mate ;)

hmmm how can you forget to change that sky? i mean the desert sky sucks so hard that you cant mis it :D

Anyways nice work azn maybe make the lighting abit darker. I really liked the older version ive tested with ya.

stoff, it wasnt just me dat made the map. zero did too. also, as for the special effects in the map, i wont tell you any more than the two that zero told you.. P.S. zero, dont tell em any more!!! the hills on the sides are jus probably temporary in some areas, they might be replaced by stone wall sections and hedgerows.
and as for the map looking like dog1.. it was pretty much based on 3 of dod's old beachmaps. Dog1, Omaha, and Overlord... you can see the resemblence later on

Why not a Brit beach? how many US beaches are there? We landed on them too...

The inside of the Bunker has a VERY Quake 2 look to it. Not sure what it is... possibly the twisting stairs.

You need to sort your lighting out, some of the lighting doesn't look like its coming from a light, plus, why would a yellow light emit red light??

The outside areas look good (except for the aforementioned sky). Pic 12 reminds me of Quake 1 outdoor levels- its the geometry.

Finally: NEVER use HL textures in DOD!

The beachs that the brits landed on were gold and the j one. The background had buildings and no bluff. That would make us restart the whole map.

Negative...the British landed on Gold and Sword beaches, while the Canadians landed on "the J one" also known as Juno.

Well, you can't use Juno, they relatively did the Lambeth walk up the beach, and there's not too much awe-inspiring about the beach. I suggest going to normandy.eb.com and looking at those maps. Also, there's someone on the boards who said he had a 3d model of the entire beachhead, or at least the American beachhead. I'm taking advantage of this for Spade, but you can at least do a little work with it.

Also, who's the one who had that model?

No i think u meant change the sky, sky shows a cliff in the background on pic 2, cliff doesnt fit in to normandy. Sry i don't have any suggestions on skys anyway. Oh and Gen mckee whats tt forest whats tt about?

K :) About the sky it really suits the mood of D-day...but the mountain seen in screenshot 2 ruins it...can that be blurred out or something :) I can give you some demolition charges to get rid of that eye sore.
