It would be cool if someone could make the original '98 of the First World War. Many German soldiers were armed with the weapon at the outbreak of the Second war, especially Waffen SS units that came second to the Wehrmacht with regards to receiving new weapons. The main differences between the 1898 and the 98k are a straight bolt handle, a longer barrel, placement of the sling and different sights.

The originals were blued and probably re-blued for use in the Wehrmacht and SS, so this isn't a good template for a skin.

This one is missing the handguard, but it gives you a good idea about the size of this thing.

If I knew how to do this, I would, but I lack the information and qualifications necessary to complete the job. Narf.

Not to be a dick or anything, but yes, I'm bumping my own thread because nobody seems to have seen it or had any interest. I've wanted one of these since the old old 1.x custom job no longer worked in 1.3, and I'm sure others would like to run around with an extra railgun looking railgun. 'Twould fit nicely in a world war one pack if anyone ever gets around do doing one of those too.

Once my US pack is outta the way im planning on finishing my WW1 brit pack so i might have a crack at making this for you and mabye a player pack.

Shouldn't be too hard, looks pretty much like the WW2 version jus with different sights and bolt.
