I was wondering if someone could put the correct insignis on the skins that deserve insignias. Like the Master Sgt. he should Have Master Sgt. insignias on his arms. I would do it but I dont know how :(

I don't think it's possible unless you do what Trigger did (and I don't know what he did, I only know that he figured out a way).

Also, I believe it would be inaccurate because they didn't show their ranks when in combat. The enemy would try to pick off the highest rank.

A master Sgt has 6 cheverons and I think that would look ugly.

They did, as a matter of fact.

I'm not a modeler, but it's not possible to skin the default soldiers with the correct rank stripes unless you use what trigger did - which is an extra texture for each individual soldier.

I personally have no idea how to do that.

Indeed, 6 cheverons would look ugly. But a Master Sergeant has 3 chevrons and 3 rockers, so I don't know what you're talking about...

You know what i ment. 3 top things 3 bottom things, sorry i didnt know the term for the lower ones. now i do.

And I dont think it looks ugly in real life, but on the shoulder of a dod model it would look alittle weird IMO

It's not possible, there are not seperate sub models for the different Sergent classes. You can look at the bits and pieces thread, or download my 3rd armored pack to see how I got ranks on the models, but you can only have one rank for all the sergent classes. There are other ways to do what I did, but I think mine is the most efficent method.

While I'm on the subject, I find it silly that "classes" have been reduced to what they are in 1.0. Everybody has one gun to choose from and some are given arbitrary ranks to describe their "class." I prefered it in the beta days were there were fewer classes and more weapon choices per class. If a server admin wants to limit mg's for example, they have to choose between the mg34 and mg42 now instead of just limiting the mg class and letting the players choose themselves.
