You'll have to wait until someone converts it to work with 1.0.

Oh well then it should go in your dod/maps folder. Usually maps come with an installer or a .zip that has folder names on, so you just put it in /dod and all the files will go into their correct directories.

I have no clue how to do that?? every single file in all the correct directory?

And do I have to update my 1.0 to the 1.1's?

Do map should auto-download when you connect. If not ask admin to enable this or for instructions how they get map running. For such old map it may be not possible without some changes in map and recompiling (so without map's sources you can't do anything).

How can you judge a map that has been out for that long with a map that is not released yet?

nijmegan is in the same category of all pre-beta 2 maps, including offical maps. That was the quality of maps back then. No CS-mappers, no great texture packs compared to today, and not that many models!

However, the map still was very fun to playtest, which we did for many hours at a time!

Of course any map IR comes up with will have a certain quality to it, like any map released from iNw (which miller was when he released nijmegan). I'd also like to know what happened to his version of carentan though......

Taffeh:
Why shouldnt he compare the map with todays standards? Yeah sure its an old map and the mappers then didnt have resources we have now, but the newer maps are better when it comes to visualisation and in most parts even gameplay.

Now I have to agrea with you that he shouldnt compare something that hasnt been released yet even though the pictures were good....

Mapping skill amoungst the mappers have improved greatly since the days of dod_nijmegan, and I would say gameplay has remained pretty much the same on standard maps....

Next, the maps are by 2 different mappers - ie, 2 different styles of mapping (and this does exist in alot of dod maps!)

And also, youve pratically answered your own question : 'didnt have the resources' and of course leading to 'newer maps have better visualisation'!
