this is just a recent problem that has poped up and i dont know the reason.

i put a env_model in the map and choice which one. it pops up and i can see it. i place it where i want it. when i compile the map and go into it the models dont load and it says error and cant load the model im using.

error: could not load model dod/models/mapmodels/forts.mdl

something like that.

i think its with my configuration or something. im using retail and have it in my sierra folder so i know where its at.

game executable
C:\SIERRA\day of defeat

mod executable
i dont have anything here (is this the reason)

game directory
C:\SIERRA\day of defeat\valve

i havent had this problem before and i have tried different combinations with the config.

help would be greatly appreciated:D

dod/models/mapmodels/forts.mdl
should be
models/mapmodels/forts.mdl

when i installed day of defeat retail it gave me the folder "day of defeat" and split into

-auth
-backup
-dod
-gldrv
-platform
-valve

so thats why it comes up as dod/models/mapmodels

i think lol

models always use something like:
models/folder/genericmodel.mdl.

so how do i get it so where it does that and doesnt have the dod in front?

All the available OFFICIAL models are in your models/mapmodels folder, in your half-life/dod directory. You can use models from valve/models, but I don't reccommend it, unless you want g-man for some wierd reason.
