I made a few things in UED and exported them into files that 3dsmax and maya can read and i want to know how to set up materials/skins and export to an .mdl that can be used in dod using 3dsmax and/or maya

If anyone can help that would be great

Well, I use Maya to model, and to get things into dod, I used to use the smd exporter that you can probably find in the faq, but since v4.0 there hasn't been a compatible exporter, so I use obj format to export to milkshape and finish the model from there.

3dmax probably still has a working smd exporter, so you can look around for that, otherwise I'd use the same method I described for Maya.
