with the finding of a 1928 tommy, and polygons tommy skin, and ls3s tommy, and a set of Klown Brand animations, i plan on makeing a stylish, yet practical tommy for the everyday uber gamer.

the hack is just about finished, and all i need to do now is the animations.

what happened to your reanimated mp40?

While I don't especially like the front end, since you're doing custom animations, could you make the shoot animation the proper way its supposed the work?

The 'bolt' on the top should start at the BACK then move forward when firing, then move back again. Just reverse the way it is now.

Also for the reload animations, when its empty, you could have the bolt stay forward, and during reload, if you include a bolt pulling back animation, only have the bolt pulled back into the BACK position and not move forward

Ok that was somewhat confusing: When you reload a Thompson (I believe) you pull the mag out, throw you another in, pull the bolt back and it says in that position.

These are just suggestions for realistic animations if you'd want them.

Also if you do the above, is there anyway you could apply them to JAJAHU's Thompson model too? Thanks anyhow.

there are restrictons as to what you can and cant do with the animations. from what i researched the standard animations are accuate. the bolt stays in a closed position unless pulled back by hand. then when fired again it would remain in the closed position.

my plan is have the draw and idle animations in open bolt, but shooting and reloading would be closed. this is difficult to explain but youll see when its finished.

as per some MIA stuff, the mp40 animations are done of course, but i need a model. marksmans is awsome but it has some glaring problems in decompile. if anyone knows of a moderate-high poly mp40 with a quality skin pm me with a link or something. the kar98s are done, however there are a few kinks and versions id like to finish. most notably a kar98 with buttsmack instead of bajonette(i plan on continuing this "no bayonette" trend with a bayonettless enfeild sometime in the future).

o and bump ;p

I dont get that right...
That makes no sense... That would mean that the M1A1 would be semi-automatic.....

Actualy the thompson is full-automatic and its an open-shooting weapon, like the UZI or MAC10.
That means that the system stays open until you push the trigger.
AFTER that the first bullet is loaded and fired. after the shot the system is open again. the MG42 works like that, too.

slight delay in release. my barrel skin is not so great and theres no muzzle flash. both need to be fixed before release.

as for a forgrip and drum.. if your looking for those use the search feature. i may do them later, but i dont know.

06-30-2003, 05:01 PM
NOOOO!! I was really looking forward to this model. But i think i can wait if it will be the best it can be :) good luck on the fixing :)

release has been pushed back till tommaro(tuesday). sorry. a pic of the bugs is at the 1st post. the recoil is more than enough reason to hold off until then.

Well if I could animate I'd do it myself but the Thompson's bolt moves forward towards the front of the weapon and back towards the end during firing. The default Thompson animations are backwards to this.

I may post in the Military History forum and get ol' Bob to give me a definitive answer.

07-01-2003, 12:59 PM
Bump! :)
