Hey guys. I finally got the time to get my compiler working.. Only one problem now..

After I followed the tutorial all the way through. And I finally got my map compiled..

I ran the map in dod. And its like my map is to dark.. if I look up at the sky its brigter then heck.. I tried adjusting my lights to a lower level to see if that helped brighten the sky.. But no luck. Any ideas... If you need i can post the map... But screenshots you wouldnt be able to see anything...

im guessing the problem is that you dont have a light_environmet entity, or that its way to dark. You need more than just street lights and stuff in your map.

k.. well i was going by the tutorial.. He put the one light in and it worked... Maybe its like you said. Maybe somehow I forgot the entity or something... Ill check it out.. Thank you.

I think the problem is that you put in the "light" entity, what you need is the "light_environment" entity.

Only other thing i know of is that you have some other texture on the other sides of the sky brush. It has to have all of the sides the sky texture to give off proper lighting.

ok quick question... when the guy in his tutorial compiles the map.. There is this light_exe that he adds a -extra in the command line..

Is this something that should be done.. IM using the batch compiler program nims.. do i need to do something like that in order for my map to be lit up?

He is just running extra rad. it slows down compile but improves looks greatly. it dosnt matter wheter you do or dont, except in how the end product looks.

So then my light shold be the color I chose... Dam.. I cant get it to compile with a brighter area.. I dont know why its not giving me a brighter light.. I chose a dark blue the first time..

But to see if it changed I set it to a yellow color and recompiled... But when I go into the map it still goes dark.. Im stuck on this part and I want to figure it out before I move on to the second video...
