Well, if the skeletons are the same for both models, it's a simple task. Just delete the old hands and sleves, and import the new hands, making sure to not include the skeleton when you do. If the skeletons are the same, the new hands will retain their vertex assignment on the other skeleton.

Alternatively, you could import the old weapon into the new skeleton rather than the new hands into the old skeleton.

If the skeletons are not the same, however, you'll have to reassign them to the skeleton manually.
